Processing Grief, 2022
For this body of work, in the wake of my father’s death in 2021, I have been contemplating the ephemeral qualities of flowers, representing the evanescent nature of all living things. My interest in the human condition, paired with the gestural drawing style, challenges our conventional assumptions about order and beauty in art and society. Though there is an anxious quality to the linework, I celebrate human bodies, changes, and lessons of all kinds.
